Reed Diffuser Guide

How to set up, maintain, and get the most from your reed diffuser โ€” long-lasting ambient fragrance with no flame needed.

How to Use

  • โ€ขRemove the stopper or cap from the bottle and place it on a coaster or non-porous tray to protect the surface.
  • โ€ขInsert 5โ€“6 reed sticks into the oil โ€” this gives a subtle, balanced scent for most rooms.
  • โ€ขAfter 24 hours, flip the reeds so the dry ends sit in the oil; this saturates the sticks and gives an immediate fragrance boost.
  • โ€ขFlip the reeds every 3โ€“5 days to refresh the scent. Flip more often for a stronger throw in larger rooms.
  • โ€ขKeep the diffuser away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and air conditioning vents to prevent the oil from evaporating too quickly.
  • โ€ขWhen the oil level drops below one-third, top it up with a small amount of diffuser oil to extend its life.

Reed Count

Start with 5โ€“6 reeds for a subtle, ambient scent. Use all reeds for a stronger throw in larger rooms like drawing rooms or open-plan spaces.

Best Placement

Hallways, entryways, and spots with gentle air circulation work best. Avoid placing directly under ceiling fans or AC vents โ€” the rapid airflow burns through the oil too fast.

Longevity

A 60ml diffuser typically lasts 4โ€“6 weeks. A 100ml diffuser lasts 8โ€“12 weeks. Warmer rooms and more reeds will shorten the lifespan; cooler, less-ventilated spaces extend it.

Surface Safety

Always place the bottle on a waterproof tray or coaster. Diffuser oil can strip finishes from wood, marble, and lacquered surfaces if dripped directly.
